Rag quilt and cushion I’ve made this quilt and cushion using the rag technique for my daughter’s bedroom. This Miffy fabric is new from Craft Cotton Company and the colours are very contemporary, so I wanted to make some room décor from it to match her grey room. This is an easy technique and looks so fluffy and cosy without taking too much time to make. For the quilt you’ll need: ü   ½ meter of fabric (for me this is grey) ü   ½ meter of contrasting fabric (for me this is white) ü   1 meter of backing fabric ü   1 meter of wadding – I used a polycotton one from Heirloom ü   505 spray (optional) ü   Scrubbing brush ü   Star templates (I printed 2 different sizes from the internet about 5 inches and 3.5 inches) 1. Pinwheel Surprise Patchwork Cushion Cover As a beginner sewer I thought this project would be quite challenging, but even though it was quite time consuming, the end result made it all worthwhile!  A rookie mistake I made was not drawing out and planning  how to cushion would look once its complete, if I had done this I would of seen that the middle of the cushion should've been a 5th pinwheel! How To Make This Shabby Chic Union Jack Cushion Cover This is a quick and easy method to make this lovely Union Jack cushion cover! You can use scrap pieces of fabric in whichever colour and print you want and fray the edges to create the 'shabby' look. I used a triple straight stitch to make them stand out but this is optional, you can use any stitch you like!
